Hope the New Year holiday went well for you all.

May I start the year 2012 by inviting your Chapter to join the 2011 PATA Chapter Awards competition?

Each year, special awards are presented to recognise outstanding achievements by PATA Chapters. The 2011 Chapter Awards will be presented at PATA Annual Conference 2012 Opening Session on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at The Royale Chulan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Before that, the two winning Chapters will be asked to present their achievements at our PATA Chapter meeting on Thursday, April 19, 2012 also at The Royale Chulan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

There are two types of awards:

SPIRIT OF PATA - Awarded to the Chapter that best illustrates the aims and objectives of PATA consistently and progressively over a number of years.

AWARD OF EXCELLENCE - Awarded to the Chapter that best exemplifies dedication to the development of travel to-from-and-within the Pacific Asia region over the previous two years, in a manner consistent with the aims and objectives of PATA.

I wish to remind you the winners of last year:

The ‘Spirit of PATA Award 2010’ went to PATA UK Chapter. Please view the presentation Tom Nutley and Ian Hawkes made at PATA Chapter Colloquium in Beijing in April last year.

The ‘Award of Excellence 2010’ went to the PATA Singapore Chapter. “Great Collaboration” is the key of success for Singapore Chapter. Please view the presentation made by Darren Ng and Wong Soon-Hwa.
