Awards Competition for Best Chapters

I wish to remind you about 2011 PATA Chapter Awards Competition. To enter, please submit a report (less than three pages) and representative samples of support material via e-mail. Please send to ben@PATA.org  by February 17, 2012. Please indicate award category, dates of project operation and number of attendees or participants. No entry form is required. More details can be found here. I look forward to receiving your entry.

A New Cambodian Chapter in the Book

PATA CEO Martin and I have been invited by PATA Cambodia Chapter to attend their official launch party in Phnom Penh on February 17. Chairman Thourn Sinan informed us that H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism Cambodia will be there. It will make another chapter in the expanding PATA Chapter book.

After Phnom Penh, the Cambodia Chapter Board will take us up to Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat, on February 18 to meet with tourism stakeholders there. The Kingdom of Wonders – Cambodia has so much to offer. Cambodia would like to use their new PATA Chapter platform to promote their beautiful country.

Forum Heat

Last but not least, the PATA Hub City Forum in Bangkok on January 30 Monday is getting hot -- judging by the humongous interest from tourism industry colleagues. Highlights are keynote speakers, Thai Airways International President Dr. Piyasvasti Amranand on “2012: Navigating the Headwinds” and Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor Suraphon Svestasreni on “Thai Tourism Lesson Learnt, Challenges Ahead.” (For the full programme click here.) We will have another best practice template to share after the event: “How PATA Chapters and PATA HQ co-organise (successful) events.”

Till next week, take care.
