The International Mayor’s Forum on Tourism—Zhengzhou, China is a grand tourism event with the most prospective and global cooperative significance that has appeared in the world tourism circles in recent years.
The Forum is sponsored by the China National Tourism Administration and Henan Provincial People’s Government, supported by the UNWTO and PATA, and participated by a great number of domestic and foreign tourist cities. It is held once every two years in Zhengzhou, Henan.
The First International Mayor’s Forum on Tourism was inaugurated in Zhengzhou, Henan Province in April 2008; its theme was “Tourism—Opportunity & Challenge of City Development”; and its aim was to promote the development of city tourism in the whole world and the building of a harmonious international society. The mayors and representatives of 222 cities from all over the world, including 96 foreign cities from 35 countries and regions, and 126 China top tourist cities, had dialogues in Zhengzhou and exchanged the insights on the hot topics concerning the development of tourism cities, learned the successful experiences of city tourism development with each other, and unanimously adopted the Zhengzhou Proclamation.
With approval of the China National Tourism Administration and the Henan Provincial People’s Government, the Second International Mayor’s Forum on Tourism will be held in Zhengzhou from June 10 to 14, 2010. At the Forum, the mayors of the tourist cities from all over the world will participate in the grand event and join efforts to propel the development of tourism. The Forum will surely become a bridge for the cooperation and common progress of international tourism; and an important platform for the deeper and more extensive exchanges and cooperation between all the countries in the world in terms of the economy, culture, education, science and technology.
