PATA Life Membership is the Association’s highest honour, conferred upon an individual who has devoted at least 15 years of exceptional voluntary service to PATA and to the tourism industry. Representatives of PATA-member organisations are nominated by their peers to receive PATA Life Membership. The PATA Honours Committee judges each nomination on its own merits. A PATA Life Member enjoys the right to participate at Board of Directors meetings as an observer. If he or she is working in the industry as a representative of a PATA-member organisation, a PATA Life Member may also be appointed to the Board of Directors in the normal way.

Brian Deeson was recognised for his many achievements and honoured with the PATA Life membership during the Honours and Awards ceremony on April 11, 2011 at PATA’s 60th Anniversary and Conference event in Beijing, China.
The PATA Life membership is the Association’s highest individual honour, recognising significant leadership and invaluable dedication to PATA. PATA was privileged to present this award to Deeson, who has over 40-years of experience in the management and marketing of hotels and resorts with major international hotel chains. He has long been actively involved with PATA and has held many important roles as officer, board member, interim CEO, and chairman.
