Bonaparte home is first European Shangri-La

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has announced the opening of its new property in Paris, scheduled for  December 17. The hotel is the group’s first property in Europe and has historical significance as it is the erstwhile private home of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte’s grand-nephew, Prince Roland Bonaparte.

The hotel group spent four years on restoring the property to its original splendour, the same amount of time it took to build the original home, from 1892-1896, according to a report in TourExpi. The property is located in the 16th arrondissement of  Paris, which is a premier residential district.
