With growing awareness about the environment and saving our planet, more and more people are realising the value of biking. Cities such as Vienna or London even provide the rent-a-bike service, where you can rent a bike from one spot and return it in another part of the city.
According to a survey conducted by Askmen.com, as reported in Tourism-Review, the Canadian city of Montreal recently invested US$134-million in new biking trails. The city also has the first urban bike share infrastructure in north America. The Brazilians, who have made a commitment to alternative transportation methods, have very good bike infrastructure in the city of Curitiba. The survey found that only 13% of citizens in Bogota own cars; the rest support bike traffic, while 32% of Copenhagen inhabitants ride to work regularly. In Amsterdam, that figure is up to 40%, with most people commuting on bikes.
