Dubai is seeing a boost in popularity among tourists, garnering a seven per cent increase in tourism during the first five months of this year.
The mystique of untouched expanses of desert and the time-proven classic lure of shopping are great attractions for tourists, according to a report by e-Travel Blackboard. The report said that European travellers making up 46% of total tourists - the highest percentage - followed by GCC travellers at 25% , Asia at 14% and 10% coming in from other Arab countries.
Hotel occupancy rates are also on the rise, with a three per cent boost compared to the same period last year.
