Goa tourism woos the Japs

Goa tourism has set its sights on Japanese tourists in an effort to increase its tourism base.

Nilkanth Halarnkar, Tourism Minister, and Swapnil Naik, director, Goa Tourism, led a state level delegation trip to Japan last week to promote the coastal state as an ideal tourist destination for young Japanese. The Goa tourism delegation visited Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya. Naik was quoted as having said that they are looking to attract all age groups of tourists, however, the focus would be on the young Japanese traveller, as reported in eTurboNews.

Naik believes that India’s central government’s decision to allow visa-on-arrival for Japanese tourists is in line with their aim to attract visitors from Japan.
