The JPY1-million check raised by PATA Foundation for the PATA Disaster Relief for Japan has been handed over to the Tohoku Tourism Promotion Organization.
Tohoku Tourism Promotion Organization General Manager Kanji Saito received the donation during a donation ceremony held on June 24, 2011. Saito said that they appreciate this kind of support sponsored by PATA members around the world. He added that they will use this donation for dispatching accurate and updated information in multiple languages via their homepage so that tourists around the world can visit Tohoku with a sense of security.
The tsunami-stricken Tohoku area is now being restored and moving forward. Travel businesses in Japan are showing signs of recovery, particularly in the Western region of the country.
