Volcanic eruption in Indonesia

Nature has her way yet again – a 400-year old inactive volcano in Indonesia, erupted suddenly. Although there are no casualties reported thus far, thousands have had to leave their homes.

According to a CNN report, 14-villages near Mount Sinabung had to be evacuated. The Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation has issued a warning and said that a large-scale eruption is unlikely. No hazardous gases have been detected, nor has the volcano affected flight routes.
