PATA Travel Mart 2009

September 22-25

World Trade Center Zhejiang

Hangzhou, China (PRC)

Welcome to Hangzhou, ‘the most beautiful and elegant city in the world’-Italian explorer Marco Polo.

Hangzhou is the capital city of Zhejiang Province and is ‘the paradise city’ of China (PRC), praised for its myriad of canals, lush rolling hills, fragrant fields of tea, spectacular temples and pavilions and of course the classical beauty of the famous West Lake which covers an area of six square kilometres and features some of Hangzhou's most famous historic and scenic places. The renowned ‘Impression of Westlake’ by acclaimed director Mr. Zhang Yimo and music by Kitaro is something not to be missed.

Although Hangzhou has been through many recent urban developments it  retains its historical and cultural heritage. Today, tourism remains an important factor for Hangzhou's economy.
