PATA's First Hub City Forum Takes Place in Hong Kong

Posted: Wed 7 Dec, 2011

December 7, 2011, Bangkok: The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) will hold its first PATA Hub City Forum on December 12, 2011 at Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel, Hong Kong SAR. Under the theme “QUALITY: A Valuable Destination,” the two-hour forum will be part of the Aerospace Forum Asia (AFA) Industry Leader Luncheon.

The PATA Hub City Forum is a prototype for a travel industry dialogue which PATA is taking on the road to six hub cities in 2012.  The first forum will kick off in Hong Kong with invited speakers from Hong Kong Tourism Board, Plaza Premium Lounge, Hong Kong Disneyland, IPSOS/Synovate, and VISA International. They will share best-practice tips and trade secrets on marketing to the affluent sector. There will be a discussion on trends and a panel discussion moderated by TIME Travel Editor Liam Fitzpatrick.

This will be an important session for the high-value, high-yield tourism sector in the face of low-margin mass tourism and low cost carrier models. There will be business and marketing angles plus latest trend data to be gleaned.

Martin J Craigs, PATA CEO, said: “As the immediate past President of AFA and the new CEO of PATA, this event offers a great opportunity for AFA members representing the aviation sector and PATA members to share their expertise, knowledge and, more importantly, to build up their business networks and provide access to key industry leaders.”

For the AFA Industry Leader Luncheon, Mr John Slosar, Chief Executive, Cathay Pacific Airways will speak  on "2012: Navigating the Headwinds."

Registration fee is HK$350 for AFA and PATA members and HK$550 for guests. To book, please contact Elva Chan at tigerbay.elva@gmail.com. Tel: (852) 2586-1399. For further information, visit http://www.pata.org/events/pata-aerospace-forum-asia-joint-industry-leaders-luncheon or www.afawings.com.
