Welcome to PATA's Sustainable Tourism Wiki
Within the travel and tourism industry there exists substantial resources of practical and theoretical knowledge on sustainable tourism and how its application can achieve PATA's mission. Every industry sector and niche, from aviation to "voluntourism", is important to this aim. Hundreds of subject areas and specialisations, from biodiversity to climate change and energy consumption, can help the travel and tourism industry achieve sustainability.
The challenge is to collectively harness that knowledge and overcome the tyranny of distance, time and cost involved with international meetings, hence the establishment of this electronic clearing house for ALL STAKEHOLDERS in travel and tourism to share information relating to sustainable tourism.
You are a stakeholder. Please join and contribute to PATA's Sustainable Tourism Wiki.
Please visit the news page and subscribe to the "PATA Sustainable Tourism News" RSS feed for sustainable tourism and related news highlights from PATA and its members and partners. What is RSS?
"Since 1951, PATA has been developing the largest travel and tourism network in Asia Pacific. It can and will play a continuing role to advance the cause of sustainable tourism."
_Mr Peter de Jong, former President and CEO, Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA)
