During his 45 year’s career in tourism he had to face many marketing crisis, and therefore opportunities, like the 1st Gulf War when he initiated Egypt’s “Back To Normal “campaign and as Chairman of the TAT Marketing Working Group for the May 1992 Recovery Committee, when he developed the “The World, Our Guest” campaign.
He created the crisis awareness brochure “ Expect the Unexpected “ , various educational & training modules on Risk Reduction and Recovery Management and co-authored with Dr. David Beirman the PATA publication “ Bounce Back “.
He is actively advocating pro-active risk reduction and re-active crisis management as well as the need for rapid recovery support planning on all levels, from vocational employees to leading executives and from Destination Marketing Organizations & Authorities to International Headquarters.
His company, The Winning Edge, is presently handling Crisis Prevention and Recovery Management projects in Bahrain, China (PRC), Taiwan, Macau (SAR), Mauritius and, of course, Thailand.
These assignments are mainly tourism industries related, but also cover various other industries like banking, bottling, transportation, water supplying and financial services.
Last but not least he is regularly guest-lecturing at Universities in Asia and Europe on the importance of this topic for managerial education, both on Bachelor and Master levels.
