Hotels that list on BookGreener get 100% revenue and have access to new resources

Ubud, Bali (June 2015) –  BookGreenerTM today launched, a new online hotel-booking tool focused on “green hotels” – properties that make a difference by actively greening their operations, implementing both environmentally and socially responsible policies, and helping guests become more responsible travellers.

“We believe that hotels that care about the environment, about their staff, are also likely to take better care of their guests,” said BookGreener’s founder, Alexandre Tsuk.

BookGreener invites sustainable hotels to go through a free self-assessment & evaluate how green and sustainable they are, and leads conscious travelers directly back to the hotel websites for booking their trips.

Designed to function on devices of any size and operating system, BookGreener rates environmentally conscious properties as:

-“Green Bud” which refers to hotels that have just begun to implement basic green practices

– “Spring Green” for hotels that already have some of the most common green practices in place and are venturing into more innovative areas, plus experimenting with concepts such as re-use of grey water and sourcing of sustainable energy

– “Forest Green” which refers to properties that are among the most environmentally and socially conscious worldwide – anything from self-sufficient eco-lodges in the jungle to luxury urban properties upholding the highest environmental standards possible.

Some of the benefits of hotels joining BookGreener:

  • It is 100% free,
  • To list their green practices and to get inspired
  • Approved hotels will receive a label-widget to display on their website
  • BookGreener markets hotels online to a global audience & target engaged travellers, who tend to stay longer and spend more.

And the icing on the cake, when a traveler wants to book a room, he completes the booking on the hotel’s website so that it receives all of the revenue.

BookGreener has also launched BookGreenerConnect – a place where likeminded professionals share tips, expertise, and showcase practical solutions for hotel owners on how to green their operations. BookGreener knows that hotels are out there doing great things and wants to promote their sustainability efforts!

Tsuk says, “Any hotel can join this community. If they are very sustainable, we will feature them. If they aspire to become more eco-conscious, the community will help them.

” BookGreenerConnect also hosts monthly webinars on practical solutions to green a hotel with industry leaders- if you are interested in sharing your expertise, please contact Alex at [email protected]

BookGreener hosted its first webinar on Water Efficiency Opportunities for Hotels on May 18 with the support of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (View the podcast in English HERE). This webinar saw over 100 attendees and was a huge success. The next webinar will be on How to Reduce Your Hotel’s Energy Consumption, to be held on June 18. Register for this event HERE.

“We’re excited to be the first global green-hotel booking system in the world, listing hotels recognized by reputable labels, but also those that are truly committed to being part of the solution but do not necessarily believe in labels,” concluded Tsuk. “We hope travellers are inspired by the green practices of these properties – and that the experience is a tipping point, encouraging them to become more eco-conscious when they return home truly rejuvenated.

” For hotel owners and managers, easy registration is made possible via a simple questionnaire (
