World Tourism Day is celebrated worldwide on 27 September to renew awareness of the importance of Tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic values and to highlight the contributions which tourism industries can make in reaching these goals in countries like Pakistan. This year’s Theme of the Day is Tourism and Community Development.  It focuses on the ability of Tourism to empower people and to provide them with skills to achieve change in their local communities.  This makes this year’s observance more relevant to Pakistan with communities like ours in Tharparkar, Manchhar, Chitral etcetera.
