SPAIN, November 27, 2018 – The World Tourism Organization and Basque Culinary Center, an Affiliate Member of the UNWTO, are pleased to inform you that the 1st UNWTO Gastronomy Tourism Startup Competition is open for submissions!
This competition aims to find solutions to the challenges and opportunities presented by the development of gastronomy tourism, providing visibility and support for a large number of startups in the tourism sector worldwide.
Gastronomy, as a decisive factor for attracting and captivating tourists, gastronomy tourism, s a component and vehicle of culture and tradition, is an indispensable resource that adds value and provides solutions for destinations that seek to stand out through unique product offerings
We invite start-ups of all kinds and areas to participate in this initiative.
The selected startups will have the opportunity to present their projects at the 5th UNWTO World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism, which will take place on 2 – 3 May 2019 in San Sebastian-Donostia, Spain. The event will offer an unprecedented platform for entrepreneurship and tourism innovation in order to create synergies between the different actors, exchange success stories and foster a venture capital investment culture.
