Managing Director, Leading Edge


Gerry’s involvement in travel and tourism has spanned more than 30 years of experience in Guam, Micronesia, the U.S. and Asia. As Managing Director of Leading Edge and its allied business consulting affiliate, Gerry’s assignments have included the development, management and marketing of resort destinations, as well as Duty Free, luxury, and travel retail. Gerry was President of DFS Guam, a subsidiary of LVMH, the world’s leading duty free and luxury retail conglomerate.

During his 23 years at DFS, Gerry served on the Guam Visitor’s Bureau Board and chaired its Tourist Attraction Fund and Japan Marketing committees. This involvement intensified his interest and participation in various PATA committees including strategic intelligence and government destinations. He has previously served on the PATA Executive Board, as an elected director under the new governance model, and is now serving on the board representing the Industry Council.

Gerry also serves or has served in other tourism non-government organizations, most recently as chairman of the Micronesia Cruise Association and immediate past President of the Asia Area Committee, SKAL International. SKAL is a professional association of the world’s tourism leaders uniting all branches of travel and tourism, Asia making up about 15% of the association’s 15,000 members in more than 350 clubs and over 90 countries.

Gerry is also an Adjunct Professor at the School of Business and Public Administration, University of Guam, and at the Guam Community College.
