Chairman & CEO, ECA2

With 25 years of experience in the company, Jean-Christophe Canizares leads a team that includes talents in the fields of creation, engineering, logistics, project management and production, perpetuating ECA2’s unique quality: a combination of creativity, technical and operational know-how and innovation.

After qualifying as an engineer and his debut as a technical manager working on concerts and festivals, he worked with ECA2 for the first time in 1992 on the opening of Eurodisney. Some further external collaborations later, he became a fully fledged member of ECA2’s in 1994.

Over this time, Jean-Christophe Canizares has participated in and produced all of ECA2’s shows. First as Technical Director, then as Chief of Operations and finally as CEO, he has gained invaluable experience, which has made it possible to accomplish incredible and successful shows all around the world.

These include special events and semi-permanent shows, such as for the Shanghai World Expo, “Movement is Life” for the Aichi World Expo in Japan and in 2017 the Opening Ceremony of the 17th FINA World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, but also permanent shows, such as “BraviSEAmo!©” for Tokyo Disney Sea, “Le Mystère de la Note Bleue” at Futuroscope (France), the Big-O Show for Expo Yeosu 2012, “Songs of the Sea” and “Wings of Time” (Sentosa Island, Singapore) as well as the recent « Fountain of deams » in  Wuyishan (China), « Lake of Illusions » in OCT Shanghai Happy Valley and « Eastern Sunrise » in Rizhao (China).

During all these years of leadership, ECA2 has continually worked on and contributed to breakthrough innovations to be the undisputed world leader in night-time spectaculars and multi-media shows!
