DHAKA, March 24, 2018PATA Bangladesh Dhaka University Student Chapter is a student-run organisation and an international platform for the students of Tourism and Hospitality Management of the University of Dhaka. It was founded in 2014 and only started its first steps. However,  it has now successfully completed a mesmerising tour at Khagrachari entitled, “Khagrachari in Your Lens” organised by its new committee of 2018. The tour destination was Khagrachari, in Bangladesh and the students stayed there from the 15th March to 18th March 2018.

Advisor of PATA Bangladesh Dhaka University Student Chapter Mr Prosanjit Saha, Lecturer, Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka and Mr Biplab Roy, Lecturer, Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka accompanied the students to make their tour successful. Furthermore, The Chairperson of the organisation, Ms Cynthia Islam and the Vice Chairperson, Ms Sayeda Abir moved with a troop of 41 students to make the first ever 2-day tour of PATA safe and memorable.

The students started their tour from the premises of Dhaka University by bus on the 15th March 2018 around 9:00 pm and reached Khagrachari by 7:00 am the next day. On the first day, they visited  Alu tila cave, Horticulture Eco Park & Auronno Kutir, a pilgrimage site for Buddhists and for the last activity of the day, they went to Mayabini, a lake for kayaking and camping. By the evening, everyone enjoyed camping with a barbecue with the campfire and a song.

The next morning they started trekking for “Hatimura”, to reach the top of Khagrachori. By 5:00 pm, they had completed trekking and rested in the guest house of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute and came back to Dhaka on the following morning.

PATA’s Bangladesh Dhaka University Student Chapter has taken this initiative to promote the unexplored sights of tourism in Bangladesh. To fulfill this purpose, they have chosen “Mayabini Lake”, a new facility providing camping and kayaking.

PATA Bangladesh Dhaka University Student Chapter aims to arrange such type of tours to flourish the tourism sector of Bangladesh and create enthusiasm among its members.
