Ngong Ping 360 appoints Mr Andy Lau as Managing Director

HONG KONG, June 19, 2019 – Ngong Ping 360 is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Andy Lau as Managing Director, effective 1 July 2019.

In 2005, before Ngong Ping 360 opened, Andy had already joined the Company. In the past dozen years he has been overseeing the cable car business, retail and leasing at Ngong Ping Village. During his tenure, Andy has expanded the Company’s overseas and mainland markets and seized burgeoning e-commerce opportunities, helping the Company to maintain ideal guest numbers. Andy has been promoted several times over the years, and last December he was promoted from Head of Commerce to Acting Managing Director.

Ms Jeny Yeung, Chairlady of Ngong Ping 360, said, “We are pleased to appoint Mr Andy Lau, who has been part of our team since the very beginning, as Managing Director of Ngong Ping 360. In the past dozen years, Andy has been engaged in business planning, expansion and operations. He is not only familiar with our undertakings and our culture, but also on good terms with our peers. Andy will surely enable our team to seize opportunities and build Ngong Ping 360 into a world-class scenic spot, providing our guests with one of the world’s 10 most amazing cable car rides”.

Mr Lau said, “I am very honoured to have earned the Board’s trust. In the capacity of Managing Director, I will work closer with our team and constantly add new elements to Ngong Ping 360. I hope the Company will remain in the good graces of local and international guests and cement its status as a must-visit attraction in Hong Kong.”

Andy obtained a double degree in Public Administration and Law from De Montfort University and the University of London. He has 24 years of management experience in sales, marketing and tourism. Prior to joining Ngong Ping 360 in July 2005, he worked in sales and marketing at Sun Hung Kai Properties and Swire Properties Ltd.
