NEW YORK and BANGKOK, April 12, 2016 — The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and travel industry research authority Phocuswright today announced a new two-year partnership giving PATA Travel Innovation Forum attendees access to unique Phocuswright content and research. The PATA Travel Innovation Forum 2016 takes place on Wednesday, September 7 as part of the programme for PATA Travel Mart 2016, in Greater Jakarta, Banten Province, Indonesia on September 7-9, 2016.
“The Asia Pacific market is incredibly diverse,” said Mario Hardy, CEO of PATA. “It has many niche markets and characteristics you can’t find anywhere else. With high Internet population, mobile devices are dominating how travellers access online services as consumers are taking control of the search, shop, and buy process. Our delegates need to stay informed and there is no one better qualified to help them do that than Phocuswright, the travel industry’s preeminent research company. We are excited about our extended partnership and we are looking forward to September.”
“We’re thrilled to bring Phocuswright’s Fast Track back to the PATA Travel Innovation Forum,” said Tony D’Astolfo, Managing Director of Phocuswright. “Our first Fast Track at the PATA Travel Technology Forum last year was a great success. With a combination of research presentations, innovator spotlights, a panel discussion featuring the leading tech players in the region and our travel technology expertise, we bring our rigorous and unbiased authority to PATA.”
Phocuswright Asia Pacific research analyst Chetan Kapoor will present research at the PATA Travel Innovation Forum portion of the event. “The Asia Pacific region is the fastest-growing and changing travel market in the world. Technology innovation in APAC is constantly evolving, so it can be challenging for companies to stay ahead of the trend,” said Kapoor. “We plan to showcase innovators, share our research and discuss the area’s biggest technology trends.”
For 38 years, PATA Travel Mart has offered a dynamic programme and platform to showcase travel products and services, bringing together many hundreds of international industry buyers and sellers. The PATA Travel Innovation Forum complements the Digital Hub exhibition platform at PATA Travel Mart 2016. The exhibition area will showcase innovative technology currently impacting the travel and tourism industry, providing online, tech and digital marketing companies the opportunity to boost brand awareness while contracting directly with relevant businesses and organisations.
