PENANG, October 21, 2019 – PATA Malaysia Chapter (PMC), supported by Tourism Malaysia and Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) held an Inter-State Tourism Networking Session on 26 July 2019 at the Hotel Equatorial Penang.
The Networking Session was basically aimed at providing a platform for travel trade participants from the PMC membership and other relevant stake holders to meet up and network with the local tourism players in Penang with the ultimate objective to explore/enhance business opportunities.
The event which attracted a total of 30 delegates from the Klang Valley, Johor and Kuching and over 40 participants from Penang, was a great success and provided an excellent opportunity for both teams from PMC membership/other stakeholders and Penang to network and foster closer business relationships.
The event was graced by YB Yeoh Soon Hin Executive Councillor, Penang Tourism Development, Heritage, Culture and Arts.
Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) hosted the Networking Session followed by Dinner at the Hotel Equatorial Penang.
Penang Global Tourism (PGT) provided a comprehensive presentation which provided an excellent insight on Penang covering the connectivity, upcoming infrastructure developments, new hotels and tourism products and calendar of events for 2019 which were very informative to all attendees and in particular, to the delegates from outside Penang. They also hosted a dinner on 27 July 2019 at The Prestige Hotel Penang, for the delegates from outside Penang.
Lexis Hotels & Resorts hosted the Executive Committee (EXCO) meeting on 27 July 2019 with a lunch and also provided a product update in the afternoon followed by Hi-Tea .
PCEB, Butterfly House (PG), Holiday Inn Resort Penang and Kidzania Kuala Lumpur did a brand showcase presentation to update delegates on their product offerings, facilities and services which were very informative to all delegates and participants. There was also a magic show performance by Theme Master Gallery during the dinner on 27 July 2019.
To add excitement to the event, the programme also included a trip to Balik Pulau on 28 July 2019 to explore its rural landscape and hidden beauties/product offerings, followed by a lunch hosted by YB Tuan Muhammad Bakhtiar bin Wan Chik (Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts And Culture Malaysia). Our delegates had a great time in Balik Pulau and besides the delicious lunch, they also had the chance to feast on local durians as well as, other tropical fruits like jackfruit and rambutans.
