Official invitation to KCCNY’s 40th anniversary celebration at the Lincoln Center New York.

Celebrating the KCCNY’s 40th anniversary, I would like to cordially invite you to a U.S. premiere of a film concert experience, Kokdu: A Story of Guardian Angels, at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on Saturday, June 29th.

This special event will feature a 20 piece traditional Korean orchestra from the National Gugak Center, the representative headquarters of Korean traditional performing arts, that will be performing the live score with the film screening.

Melding the worlds of fantasy and reality, Kokdu weaves between cinematic storytelling and an impressive performance work as it explores Korean myths and traditions with a poignant and uplifting touch. The film follows two siblings who encounter a band of living kokdu, wooden figurines that guide the dead to the afterlife, in their journey through the underworld.
