Rico Hizon is an award-winning news anchor of BBC World News’ Asia Business Report, providing economic and market news from the Asia-Pacific region, and NewsDay, a live show about the latest political and social issues. He has interviewed many notable personalities, including Bill Gates, Tony Fernandes, Sir Richard Branson, Warren Buffett, President Susilo Bambang Yughoyohono, President Bill Clinton, Manny Pacquiao, Michelle Yeow, and Amy Chua. Rico has also moderated and hosted many global events, such as the UN Conference on Economic and Social Change, The Clinton Global Initiative, The Asian Development Bank Annual Meetings, and The World Economic Forum. He is the recipient of numerous awards from the Asian Television Awards, Rotary Club of Manila, People Asia Magazine, and La Sallian Achievement Awards. Rico was accorded a Doctorate Honoris Causa in Humanities by the University of Northeastern Philippines in 2012.
