I was excited to start working at PATA as an Associate a week ago, as PATA provides a young professional such as myself much needed international exposure. Since arriving I have realised that the Association is a one big family where everyone works hard, helps and respects each other and do great things. I feel honoured to have a chance to work at an organisation that guides me in the path of sustainability and serving others.

Every day I feel part of the PATA team and I am enjoying the opportunities to interact with other interns and staff members from different countries and building new friendships. It is certainly an eye opening experience to work at PATA headquarters..

Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living. This is what I am experiencing now in Bangkok, Thailand. It is my first trip abroad and I have come to realise that the world has many fun things to offer – especially when you know so little about the language, food and culture. Experiencing the unknown is exhilarating.

Even though it is less than two weeks since I started my internship I have had the chance to visit popular malls such as Siam Center and Siam Paragon as well as the famous Victory Monument. I have also had the chance to experience the night markets and JJ weekend market which everyone who loves to shop should certainly visit. I am not the kind of person who loves to shop but these markets are really tempting as it offers something for everyone. The best part so far is the overall charm of the city and the friendly people. Even if you do not receive an answer you will still receive a smile that will make your day. There are many places I have yet to explore in Thailand that are on my bucket list and hopefully they will be scratched from the list during the upcoming weekends.
