Head of Strategic Partnerships, APAC, Airbnb, Singapore
Thao is currently Airbnb’s Head of Strategic Partnerships for the Asia Pacific based in Singapore. She focuses on partnerships covering tourism promotion, economic empowerment, women’s empowerment, sustainability, and large events. Prior to Airbnb, Thao served as an American diplomat with the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC, Jakarta, and most recently Beijing where she covered disruptive technology, human trafficking rings, and Chinese outbound travel to the United States. She is a strong advocate for the role of public-private partnerships in creating social impact. Her government and private sector work also include strategic engagement to the Asian American small business community for The White House, outreach to government partners on anti-human trafficking issues for The Asia Foundation, and research on Internet freedom and tech entrepreneurship in Vietnam for the Google Southeast Asia team.
Thao holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from George Washington University and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School where she focused on technology policy.
