A 45-minute drive away from the hustle and bustle of Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah offers an authentic Arabian ambiance and so much more.

Amid the terracotta dunes and amber sands, the northernmost emirate of the United Arab Emirates boasts pristine beaches, breathtaking natural vista, and archaeological sites and ancient villages that tell stories of civilisations from a distant past.

A destination where adventure meets culture, Ras Al Khaimah provides a wide range of activities, from excursions to historical sites to nature-based tours to adrenaline-packed activities.

Through a selection of four complimentary tours curated and hosted by the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, the upcoming PATA Annual Summit 2020 offers delegates the opportunity to explore the host city Ras Al Khaimah and its surroundings, while contributing to the sustainable growth, value and quality of tourism.

Tour 1: Suwaidi Pearls Farm – Discover the historical and cultural journey of the region’s pearling industry

Take a fascinating trip to the yesteryears, to a time when pearling was once the pillar of the country’s economy.

Considered the world’s first Arabian pearl farmer, Abdullah Al Suwaidi set up the region’s first cultured pearl farm in 2005 on the very waters that had produced the finest Arabian pearls coveted by royals, nobles and celebrities in distant lands.

This tour takes you on a visit to the pearl farm to discover the historical and cultural journey of the region’s pearling industry and the legacy that led it to become the one of the world’s most sought after gems. The farm is located in the small fishing village of Al Rams, nestled at the bottom of the majestic Al Hajar mountain range in Ras Al Khaimah.

Tour 2: Jebel Jais Flight – Fly across the world’s longest zip line

If you’re an adrenaline junkie, this tour is a must!

You will be fitted with a special harness and travel at the speed of up to 120kph to 150kph at a height of 1,680 metres above sea level from top of Jebel Jais mountain, the highest mountain in the UAE.

The longest flight takes approximately two to three minutes. Once completed, you will finish the bucket list flight on a suspended landing platform where you will be transferred to a second line to complete your journey back to the ground.

Navigate your way through the sky averaging speeds of 60 kilometers per hour  and find yourself at the UAE’s highest sky bridge, at 1,250 meters above sea level. Pause to take photos then walk across the length of a 15-meter bridge to continue the last part of your zipline journey.

Tour 4: City Tour – Time travel through the ancient sites
