Meet Our New Interns!

We’ve had the pleasure to welcome new staff who joined us as Intern Associates and helped us through the third quarter of 2022. Get to know them and their experience at PATA!

Boseong Jeong - Membership Intern

Hello! I am Marshall from Seoul, Korea (ROK). I am expecting my bachelor’s degree majoring in Convention Management this year.

I have always wanted to work abroad which is why I applied for PATA. Working for PATA has been a learning experience for me as I am able to familiarise myself with new programmes such as Growthzone. Throughout my journey, fellow interns and kind colleagues have been very helpful. Working with PATA has prepared me for my future career, and with this I am proud of working in PATA.

Joshu Ajoon E - Strategic Intelligence Centre (SIC) Intern

I’m Joshu Ajoon E, a MBA graduate in Tourism & Travel Management from Pondicherry University. I have a fervent interest in research and have gained experience by writing and presenting research papers at multiple tourism-related conferences and publishing research papers in journals, book chapters and conference proceedings. My research focus is on Tourism Education and Tourism Management. In addition to this, I have three-year working experience as Tour Operator, and I am currently mastering I/O Psychology at  Indira Gandhi National Open University to explore the psychological aspects of Human Resource Management in the service sector.

Apart from the research and academic-career background, I spend my time map-surfing, planning ,designing itineraries, collecting non-fiction books, or doing artwork.

I am thrilled to associate at the Strategic Intelligence Centre, Pacific Asia Travel Association. The reports published by organisations like PATA, UNWTO, UNESCO etc., always lured me to experience the research environment at an internationally reputed organisation. Thanks to PATA for helping me accomplish this ambition.

Junghyun Yoon -Events Intern

Hello everyone! My name is Junghyun Yoon, but you can call me Hailey. I’m from Korea (ROK) and have been working as an events team intern from July 2022. I am very glad and honoured to introduce myself as a part of this amazing organisation, PATA.

When I was young, I dreamed of becoming a PCO (Professional Convention Organiser) because I loved interacting with new people and organising events. Therefore, I majored in International Business and Global MICE at Dongduk Women’s University. While studying, I got an opportunity to work at Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO), which led me to open my interest to the tourism industry.

Now, as an intern at PATA, I wish to contribute myself for the best of this team and broaden my view of events and the tourism industry along with insights. I am thrilled to engage in everything that PATA holds and look forward to this journey ahead!

Mykaela Nicole B. Nillos - Marketing Intern

Mabuhay! I am Nicole Nillos from the Philippines. Currently, I am studying Leisure and Tourism Management at Miriam College. I am working as an associate at the Marketing department wherein I  am assigned in handling the PATA website particularly the Asia Pacific Snapshot: COVID-19 Updates & Recovery Dashboard as well as creating spiels and captions for their social media sites.

Being with PATA definitely improved my knowledge about the tourism industry on a global scale, and honed my skills and talents. In the same way, I got to meet new people and learn from them.

Prashant Prajapati - Marketing Intern

Hi everyone!

This is Prashant Prajapati, all the way from one of the most antiquated towns of Nepal, Bhaktapur. I have already completed my bachelor's degree in Tourism & Hospitality but am still learning about new visions of tourism. Being a tourism student, of course, I travelled to quite a few places from the most popular destinations to some untouched ones. But, more than travelling, I am passionate about photography. Photography has always been a part of me. It just does not fill my travelling diaries but also helps me recollect all those memories.

Besides, I have been working as a social media marketer and always wanted to work for an international organisation related to tourism. So, I decided to join PATA as a marketing intern in the hope of nourishing and developing my creative idea. PATA is such a leading organisation that I look forward to learning more about the behind-the-scenes activities at PATA and enhancing my understanding of the tourism industry.

Ruiyuan Zhang, Rae - Marketing Intern

Hi everyone! My name is Ruiyuan Zhang from China and I go by Rae. I am studying Tourism Business Management at Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM). At the same time, I am the Brand Marketing and Communication Department Head in the PATA Macao Student Chapter. I am full of enthusiasm about travelling, enjoying creative work and experiencing diverse cultures. Likewise, I am a big fan of painting, fencing and cooking.

Before joining the PATA family, I had some experiences working in the government departments related to culture and tourism in mainland China and Macao, China as well as I organised and participated in volunteer teaching in Guizhou Province, China. Now, I am honoured and grateful to have a chance to be a member and work in my dream department and association, the PATA Marketing department, to use my knowledge and skills to contribute to PATA.

Finally, I would like to thank PATA for giving me a significant, international and specialised intern position. This journey is full of challenges and opportunities. I believe that I could turn the problems into chances and learn incredible knowledge! Thanks again for offering the valuable internship and meeting all the wonderful people!

YoonJae Sung - Youth Intern

I am based in Busan, Korea (ROK). This is my 3rd internship program.  I've worked at Korea Culture and Tourism Institution (KCTI) and Busan Tourism Organization(BTO) for 5 months.

I've always wanted to be a member of international organisations such as PATA . I hope I can learn various skills while working and having a good relationship with our interns too. Thank you PATA for giving me this invaluable opportunity and hope to maximise our Youth's team productivity as well.
