We’ve had the pleasure to welcome four new staff who joined us as Intern Associates and help the association progress during these trying times in the last quarter of 2020. Let’s get to know them!

Giang Linh Hoang (LG) - Youth Associate

Xin chao, my name is Linh Giang (people often called me LG) and I come from the cuisine city - Hanoi, Vietnam. Currently I am a final year student following Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality Management and minoring in Digital Marketing.

Taylor Swift is my obsession (my brother's Spotify playlist is packed with all of her albums that I downloaded)! I treasure friendship and can talk fast like a chipmunk when being around my friends. Travelling to a new destination is another interest of mine, to explore new culture and people. So far, I have visited 20 different countries across Europe, America and Asia, and the upcoming destination I plan to go after COVID-19 is Australia.

As a Youth Associate, I am happy to meet and learn from many young tourism professionals and to motivate each other to make a positive impact on the future of tourism & travel. PATA is an incredible and dynamic place for me to work; it is a place where I could challenge myself to explore my full potential.

Napason Wetchapram (Wai)- Sustainability & Social Responsibility Associate

Few years in the tourism industry along with Cultural Resource Management Study and volunteer activities participating, I have highlighted my interest here at PATA in Sustainability and Social Responsibility, which have always been a part of my life. It is such an unforgettable chance to connect with good friends, tourism partners, world class organisations and to be out of my comfort zone interacting with international professionals.

I have learnt and closely supported specialists nonstop, upscaling my career experience that could hardly be achieved from anywhere else during this time. Being a PATA intern is worthwhile and would shape the clearer version of yourself, I guarantee.

Rhiannon Kate Bryant (Rhi)- Events Associate

It's been a great experience as the Events Associate to see how much behind the scenes research and data processing takes place. I have particularly enjoyed learning about start-ups in the travel industry and what possibilities we will see in the near future and how technology will fit into that role.

I had my first aeroplane ride when I was 6 months old and have been an avid traveller ever since. Both domestic and international travel between my home countries before moving to Asia in 2015 temporarily and then permanently in 2018. I am originally from New Zealand but spent my life in Australia, so it wasn't uncommon for me to move around to see friends and family. I enjoy trying new foods, visiting museums and learning about different cultures and civilizations. I have been working in the tourism industry since 2018 and have had many unforgettable experiences and situations thrown at me which have continuously brought a smile to my face no matter how challenging they were.

Romil Takkar-Membership.jpg

Romil Takkar- Membership Associate

Hello! I’m Romil, a tourism enthusiast with a keen interest in exploring a destination for the authentic experience it has to offer. I hope to experience different cultures all across the globe. Moreover, the sound of an aeroplane engine is music to my ears!

I love spending time with my cats, my favourite pastime is watching planes fly by and land, and I’m passionate about people, photography and food!

My internship with PATA has been intriguing! I’m supporting the Membership Department as an intern, knowing that the tasks I perform here have a direct impact on our members is empowering. It's been quite a learning experience for me as a newcomer to the industry. I'm grateful to have been exposed to the industry in a much optimistic environment with great  leaders guiding me towards success.

Signing up for a remote internship, I wasn't sure how it would be; but I'm happy to see how much I have learnt from it, and I'm looking forward to the brighter things in life.
