PATA Malaysia Taylor's Student Chapter's Virtual Coffee Session

Subang Jaya, Malaysia, 5th August 2021 - PATA Malaysia Taylor's Student Chapter (PATA MTSC) organized a virtual coffee session with PATA student chapters last 5th August 2021. The session aimed to build networking and collaboration among PATA student chapters. Previously they were connected through general PATA activities; however, this session provides them with an excellent opportunity to know each other more closely. This session was conduction via the zoom application.

Around 30 representatives of PATA MTSC, PATA Singapore Student Chapter, PATA Indian Student Chapter and PATA Indonesia Student Chapter joined this session. Mr Triyanto started the session with a welcoming greeting at 4 pm. It was followed by a welcoming speech by Ms Teresa Dines (the President of PATA MTSC) and opening remarks by Dr Thanam (the Advisor of PATA MTSC). Then, all members were asked to provide a quick introduction about themselves by mentioning the name, position, the PATA student chapters they belonging to and their hobbies.

To enlighten the session happier, Ms Fionna and Ms Kelly conducted an ice-breaking session named '2 truth and 1 lie'. The participants were requested to say 2 truths and 1 lie about themselves, and members need to identify the lying statement. The students enjoyed the session and actively participated in the session. Next, Dr Thanam briefly explained the collaboration initiative and proposed activities for the upcoming World Tourism Day 2021. In line with this, Ms Teresa Dines and Ms Fionna will organize another meeting next to discuss this initiative. Finally, the session ended at 5 pm with a thank you note by Ms Teresa Dines and a virtual photo session. This was a great starter for upcoming collaboration initiatives among PATA student chapters.
