PATA India Christ University Student Chapter: PATA Welcoming Event: For Summer Exchange Program International Students
Bengaluru, India, 12th August,22 - PATA India CHRIST University Student Chapter held an event to welcome Student Exchange Program 2022 International Students at Christ University Bannerghatta Road Campus. Held on 12th August 2022, the event included cultural dances and rhythms of India. The university dance groups like Banjara, representing the traditional folk of Gujarat and Natyavriksha, the Indian classical dance, gave dance performances showing Karnataka culture.
The members of PATA India CHRIST University Student Chapter, performed rituals like giving flower garland and (tilak) to the International students, mirroring the true values and rituals that bond India with other cultures. The students were given a campus tour along with they were made to experience Indian cuisines with a day out in Bengaluru.
The students of Christ University exchanged their thoughts and perspectives about learning culture with the international students coming from Europe and the United Kingdom.
Overall, the event was a growth learning experience for all the listeners and we were able to have any takeaways from the same. Different cultures were exchanged on the palette. The Indian values of warm hospitality were reflected to those coming from European and other cultures. Where we consider our guest as God, as we embark our old saying," Atithi devo Bhava."
About PATA India CHRIST University Student Chapter:
Founded in 2020, PATA India CHRIST University Student Chapter is India’s first PATA Student Chapter. The organization is run by students of the tourism discipline of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) to benefit more than 250 members spanning across undergraduate and postgraduate tourism programmes in the university. The members are encouraged to participate in activities hosted by the chapter, focusing on various industry concerns, including sustainability and industry development.
