We’ve had the pleasure to welcome five new staff who joined us as Intern Associates and will be helping the Association progress during these trying times in the second quarter of 2021. Let’s get to know them!

Anisur Rahman - Marketing Intern

I am from Bangladesh and a Tourism and Hospitality Management student at the University Of Dhaka. I joined PATA as a Marketing Intern on March 30. I am passionate about marketing-related work along with the IT sector. So, I have pursued Digital Marketing and some IT-related skills. In my free time, I read books or cycle, and if it’s a long vacation, I travel to seek adventures in hills and mountains

Despite being a new team member at PATA, I haven’t felt any anxiety or panic because of my lovely and cooperative team members. Thankfully, I am enjoying the work and training, and I look forward to experiencing and learning new knowledge through working with these good people.

Aubrey De Asis - Youth Intern

Hi! I'm Aubrey from the Philippines. As a child, I lived in the Pearl of the Orient Seas but I spent my teenage years growing up in Australia. Being a third-culture kid, I had to learn how to balance two different cultural perspectives and values. It's challenging but the experience shaped my appreciation for diversity and fueled my interest to learn from the stories and experiences of people from different parts of the world. Currently, I'm in my senior year of studying Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management at Visayas State University. My intern experience here in PATA excites me everyday!

As part of the Youth Department, I assist the PATA Youth Ambassador, Aletheia Tan. And I am fortunate to learn from her each day and do the three things I enjoy the most: 1.) Collaborating in a multicultural community, 2.) Applying my knowledge and skills for a greater cause, and 3.) Contributing to develop youths like me! I still have more to learn about the tourism industry and myself as an aspiring professional, and I am blessed that PATA gives me the opportunities to do both.

Ben Su - Events Intern

I seek multi-cultural experience and meeting friends from all over the world.

I am honoured to be a PATA intern, which offers me a great opportunity to work with global friends and co-workers.

Fernanda Rodak - Sustainability & Social Responsibility Intern

I am passionate about travelling and I have visited 75 global destinations! I believe tourism is a powerful tool for preserving communities’ culture and traditions as well as conserving nature and biodiversity. I have recently finished my master’s in International Heritage and Cultural Tourism Management and I am very happy to be working in the field that I love at PATA. Since the internship started, I have already learned a lot through amazing projects on sustainability and destination resilience, and I am very excited for what’s coming next. I believe this opportunity at PATA will become incredibly valuable for the beginning of my career.

Jungsoo Lee  - Events Intern

Hi everyone! I am Jungsoo Lee from Korea (ROK).

I love travelling, working out (especially boxing), meeting new people, and partying, but I also love studying and learning new knowledge (I don't like reading literature though). I am still a newbie at PATA, as I started my internship at the Events department on April 1st, but I have already met many hospitable and amiable people. I hope I can learn more from them during the internship period.

During my internship at the events department, I want to learn about sustainable tourism and new normal. Especially because I am majoring in Tourism and Events Management at Kyonggi University, I believe PATA will provide new insights into sustainable tourism in a global manner.

Also, It is a shame that I cannot physically attend events, since they are held remotely and virtually, but I look forward to learning and experiencing the new normal in the MICE industry. I hope we meet up one day physically and drink beer together. ;)
