Ako - Events Intern

Hello! I am Ako from Events Team. I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. I am currently studying Tourism Management in Malaysia. With a global mindset, I had led PATA Malaysia Help University Student Chapter in organising international events in collaboration with fellow Student Chapters in 2022. Based on that experiences, I’m now working in the Events Team and learning new skills and experiences.

Amber – Sustainability & Research Center - Research intern

I hail from the vibrant city of Chengdu, renowned for its delectable cuisine and adorable pandas. Rooted in my love for dance and culinary delights, I've always found joy in savoring life's flavors and expressing myself through movement. The allure of both exploring new cultures and savoring diverse dishes drove me to venture beyond, leading me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Tourism in the enchanting Macao, China. My journey took me from there to the enchanting realms of Disney World Florida and the luxurious embrace of The Ritz-Carlton. These experiences ignited my passion for the tourism and hospitality industry, compelling me to dedicate myself wholeheartedly. Fueling this dedication, I furthered my education with a degree in Tourism Management from the University of Queensland, delving deeper into the intricacies of this field. Intrigued by the luxury sector, I embarked on a new chapter with LVMH as a sales executive, honing my skills in providing unparalleled experiences. This June marks a significant milestone as I step into the role of SIC intern at PATA, an esteemed opportunity to absorb the workings of a world-class tourism association. With enthusiasm, I anticipate broadening my horizons and contributing my insights to the global tourism landscape.

Hyeji Jang (El) – Events intern

Hello everyone! I am Hyeji Jang, and just call me El. I'm delighted to introduce myself as the new Q3 intern joining the Events Team of PATA. Currently, I am majoring in the Division of Tourism at Hanyang University. As an individual with a deep passion for travel and a love for organizing and coordinating events, the internship at PATA is a perfect fit for me. Throughout my academic journey, I have actively participated in various simulated event management projects, expanding my knowledge of tourism. So, I have always wanted to work in the real business area. Therefore, what excites me the most about this role is the direct chance to bring people together and foster connections, while reducing the gap between the academic and the real business fields. During my time as an Events intern, I am committed to absorbing knowledge, gaining practical experience, and refining my event management skills. I hope to be an asset to the team, creating events that can make special memories and leave a lasting impact on attendees.

Ye Eun Kang (Sara) – Youth intern

Hello everyone! My name is Ye Eun Kang (Sara). I'm majoring in tourism management in Korea (ROK). While studying, I have been deliberating about the power of tourism and the way forward, and I've wanted to know the role of international organisations. In addition, working in this field, I have felt happy to meet and communicate with various people and help them through tourism. That's why I applied for PATA, and thankfully, I'm doing an internship in the PATA Youth Team. As a Youth intern, I'm working for our youth members by supporting Nick, PATA’s Youth Ambassador. I hope to experience many things, develop practical skills, and gain meaningful insights during this period. Starting with my time at PATA, I want to grow into an expert and contribute to the tourism industry. I'm working remotely now, but I'm looking forward to meeting the worldwide PATA family in person at the PATA Travel Mart 2023 and Youth Symposium in New Delhi in October. Let's meet then!
