Elisabeth Yolanda Naingalis - Youth Intern

Hi, greetings from Indonesia! My name is Elisabeth, and I'm currently a postgraduate student at Bournemouth University in the UK, pursuing a degree in Tourism Management. Coming from a vibrant and culturally rich country like Indonesia, I’ve always been fascinated by the power of tourism to connect people, celebrate diversity, and create meaningful experiences.

Tourism is more than just a field of study for me, it's a unique and dynamic industry that constantly evolves, and learning about it has been both inspiring and eye-opening. Through my academic journey, I've gained a deeper understanding of sustainable practices, destination development, and the global impact of tourism.

One of the most amazing experiences in my journey so far has been the opportunity to intern with the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) in the Youth Department. Being part of this international organisation allowed me to collaborate with young tourism leaders from around the world, contribute to youth-focused initiatives, and witness first-hand how global cooperation shapes the future of tourism. I'm truly proud of this experience, as it has helped me grow both personally and professionally.

Marjolein Vanmaercke - Sustainability Intern

Hallo! My name is Marjolein, originally from Belgium but currently studying in Bangkok. I’ve been living in Asia for the past three years. My passion for both languages and tourism first brought me to Taiwan to study Mandarin, and later led me to pursue a Master’s in International Development at Chulalongkorn University. I’m currently a Sustainability Intern at PATA, where I get to explore how tourism can be a driver for positive change. So far, I’ve traveled to 45 countries — and my dream is to visit them all one day! When I’m not studying, you’ll find me exploring a new destination or tracking down hidden food spots. I joined PATA because, as a tourist myself, I’ve seen both the positive and negative impacts tourism can have on local communities and the environment. I believe tourism has the potential to move toward a more sustainable future — one where we can continue to explore the world, but in a more mindful and responsible way.

Hello, my name is Tran Hoang Bao Quynh, but you can call me Stella. I’m originally from Vietnam and currently in my third year studying International Media and Entertainment Management in Taiwan.
