Meet Our New Interns of Q4 2025!
We have had the pleasure of welcoming new team members who joined us as Intern Associates and have been helping us support our objectives throughout the fourth quarter of 2025. We invite you to get to know them and their experience at PATA!
Abdulaziz Alkammah - Sustainability Intern
Salaam Alaikum! I’m Abdulaziz from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 — a tourism enthusiast with a project management background and a big passion for sustainability. Before diving into the world of tourism, I spent several years managing hospitality and infrastructure projects (yes, hard hats and site plans included!). That experience taught me how planning and execution can transform not just buildings, but whole communities.
I recently completed my Master’s in Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management at The George Washington University, where I focused on sustainable destination development and how tourism can empower local economies. Now at PATA, I’m excited to combine my engineering mindset with creativity — contributing to projects that make travel more meaningful and responsible across the Asia-Pacific region.
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me road-tripping through Saudi’s heritage villages, hunting for great coffee spots, or planning my next adventure.
Chaeyoon Rha - Membership Intern
Hello, everyone! I'm ChaeYoon Rha from Korea (ROK). While majoring in English Language & Literature, I had the chance to meet people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Through those experiences, I became fascinated by how tourism can connect people from different parts of the world and bring them together through shared experiences.
That interest naturally led me to explore the field of tourism, especially sustainable tourism. I was particularly drawn to PATA because its vision of promoting responsible and inclusive tourism perfectly aligns with my own values. PATA brings together people from all backgrounds under a unified vision to create positive change in the global tourism industry—and I’m truly excited to be part of this mission as a Membership Team Intern.
If you’re also passionate about global tourism and want to gain hands-on experience in an inspiring international environment, I can confidently say that PATA’s internship programme will be an incredible opportunity for you!
Donghyeon Lee (Stephano) - Research Intern
안녕하세요! I’m Donghyeon Lee (Stephano) from Korea (ROK). I am currently a senior at Hanyang University, triple-majoring in Tourism, Data Science, and Industrial Engineering. My research interests are Data-Driven Tourism Development, Human-Computer Interaction, and Artificial Intelligence (LLM)-based development.
My personal passion for tourism is mainly focused on sustainable tourism, tourism revitalization, and the technology convergence in tourism. The interest in managing tourism data and applying it to various models led me to join the PATA Project Management team as a research intern. As a project management team intern, I’m learning valuable skills in data collection and distribution, as well as assisting in the publication of reports from PATA.
It’s a great honor for me to be part of PATA. If you are interested in enlarging your view in tourism, I’m more than sure that PATA would be a great opportunity for you!
Jiwon Kim (Jamie) - Marketing Intern
Hiii! I’m Jiwon, but feel free to call me Jamie. I am currently studying Tourism at Hanyang University in Korea.
During my studies, I've developed a strong interest in planning and marketing tourism programs. Therefore, I am incredibly excited for this opportunity to work with the marketing team at PATA.
As an international organisation, PATA offers a fantastic chance to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds and broaden my perspective. I am especially appreciative of the chance to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the important work of sustainable tourism.
Ram Cartney Cortez - Marketing Intern
Mabuhay! Greetings from the Philippines! My name is Ram, and I’m pursuing a Master’s degree in Strategic Communication Management at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. With a background in marketing communications, public relations, and content writing, I share a passion for impactful storytelling that shapes narratives and brings ideas to life.
I’m excited to be part of an incredible team with diverse backgrounds that share a heart for the sustainable transformation of the travel industry. PATA has widened my perspective as I’m surrounded by experts who are driven to connect industry leaders, organisations, and the youth to spark meaningful change in the world of travel. Just as my own travel experiences shaped bits and pieces of who I am along the way, this journey with PATA excites me as I gain hands-on experience in an international environment where I can grow not only professionally, but also personally as I meet new people, collaborate, and learn more about more cultures and the industry as a whole.
Raya Sajid - Sustainability Intern
Hi everyone! Greetings from the Maldives. I’m Raya, and I recently completed my Master’s in Management & Sustainable Tourism at University of Glasgow. I have a background in tourism and hospitality, with three years of experience spanning digital and destination marketing for the Maldives’ destination marketing organisation as well as hands-on luxury hospitality operations in both city and remote island settings.
I’m passionate about regenerative tourism and hope to build a career in regenerative travel—tourism that goes beyond sustainability to actively restore and regenerate communities and the environment for future generations. I look forward to applying my knowledge at PATA, gaining meaningful experiences, and expanding my network in the tourism industry.
Yu Mengfei (Fei) - Youth Intern
Ni Hao! Greetings from China! My name is Yu Mengfei, and I graduated from Sejong University in Korea, majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management. I really enjoy travelling and hiking, which allow me to explore new places, meet people from different cultures, and get inspired.
Before starting my Ph.D. studies, I’d like to gain more hands-on experience in the tourism industry and connect with people from around the world. The tourism industry plays a crucial role in today’s society, so understanding how university students perceive and engage with tourism is also something I find interesting — this is one of the reasons I decided to join the YTP. I’m really excited to join PATA, learn from everyone, and contribute in any way I can!
