Why did you join PATA?

Tidesquare operates across multiple areas of the travel ecosystem—from mass market online travel and premium travel to enabling brands outside of the travel industry to offer travel experiences to their customers. As travel becomes increasingly interconnected, we believe the future of tourism will depend less on individual organizations working in isolation and more on strong collaboration across destinations, industry partners, and technology providers.

That is what drew us to PATA.

PATA brings together the organizations that shape tourism across the Asia Pacific region—from tourism boards and governments to airlines, hotels, travel businesses, and technology companies. We joined because we believe meaningful innovation happens when these different perspectives come together. We hope to both contribute our experience in travel technology and distribution while continuing to learn from destinations and partners across the region.

How do you see your organisation aligning with PATA's new vision of creating a meaningful Pacific Asia tourism economy, and how can this vision be reflected in your day-to-day operations?

At Tidesquare, we believe creating a meaningful tourism economy is no longer simply about making more information available—it is about helping travelers, destinations, and businesses navigate an increasingly complex travel ecosystem.

With AI dramatically increasing the amount of information available to travelers, the challenge is shifting from access to information toward helping people discover relevant experiences, understand destinations in meaningful ways, and make confident travel decisions. We see technology not as a replacement for human expertise, but as a tool that helps connect people with the right experiences, partners, and opportunities.

This philosophy is reflected in our day-to-day work. Whether we are supporting premium travelers, enabling consumer brands to offer travel products, or working with destinations and suppliers, our focus is on making travel more accessible through localized content, stronger partnerships, and better-connected distribution ecosystems. We believe collaboration between destinations, industry partners, and technology providers will be essential to creating a more resilient and meaningful tourism economy across Asia Pacific.

What recent initiatives, trends, or transformations in your organisation or destination would you like to share with the PATA network?

One of the biggest transformations we are seeing is that travel is becoming increasingly localized, even as technology makes the industry more globally connected. As traveler behavior, digital ecosystems, and distribution models continue to diverge across markets, regional expertise has become more important than ever.

At Tidesquare, this has reinforced our focus on combining technology with deep market expertise. We continue to invest in AI-enabled workflows, next-generation distribution capabilities such as NDC, and stronger partnerships across destinations, airlines, hotels, and travel technology providers. At the same time, we help partners navigate the unique characteristics of regional traveler behavior, recognizing that every market has its own digital ecosystem, consumer expectations, and distribution dynamics. In Korea, for example, traveler discovery and purchasing behaviors differ significantly from many global markets, highlighting the importance of localized strategies rather than one-size-fits-all approaches.

Rather than viewing technology as the end goal, we see it as an enabler of stronger partnerships and more meaningful travel experiences. We believe the future of tourism will be shaped by organizations that successfully combine innovation with trusted partnerships and deep market expertise, creating better connections between travelers, destinations, and the broader tourism ecosystem.
