Why did you join PATA?

We joined PATA to introduce our organisation and the experiences we offer to travellers across the Asia-Pacific region, while connecting with a wider tourism network.

Pakistan is going through a tourism transformation, and we would like to leverage PATA's network to showcase the various sides of its beauty to the adventurous travellers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, travel restrictions encouraged more people to explore Pakistan domestically, including its northern areas. We saw this first-hand when one of our team members travelled to K2 Basecamp in 2022 — an experience they may not otherwise have undertaken.

Over the past three years, we have seen growing interest in Pakistan, particularly its northern areas, as well as increasing efforts by provinces to develop their tourism destinations. Through PATA, we hope to share Pakistan’s story and be part of this growing tourism landscape.

How do you see your organisation aligning with PATA's new vision of creating a meaningful Pacific Asia tourism economy, and how can this vision be reflected in your day-to-day business operations?

Our vision is to position Pakistan as a premier destination for travellers across the Asia-Pacific region by showcasing its remarkable diversity of experiences. From Hindu, Sikh, and Buddhist heritage and ancient sites such as the Indus Civilisation and Mohenjo-Daro to the legacy of the Mughal era, Pakistan offers a rich history and cultural heritage spanning millennia.

Beyond its historical and cultural attractions, Pakistan also offers world-class adventure tourism and beautiful waters along the Indian Ocean, with potential for future activities such as scuba diving and sport fishing. By bringing these diverse experiences to a wider audience, we hope to contribute to PATA’s vision of creating a meaningful Pacific Asia tourism economy.
