Candela Technology AB, founded in Stockholm in 2014, builds electric hydrofoil boats to accelerate the shift to fossil-free waterborne transport. Their vessels offer performance and comfort equal to or better than fossil-fuel boats. A 2016 prototype exceeded range targets, leading to serial production in 2019. Candela’s latest commercial model, the P-12, is designed for public transport and other professional sectors. With all R&D and manufacturing based in Stockholm, Candela builds everything in-house, enabling over 80% energy savings. As the global leader in electric hydrofoiling, Candela has attracted strong investor interest, including EQT Ventures in a €24 million funding round.
