A Taste of Japan’s Finest Seasonal Fruits, Unlimited Servings of Hokkaido Milk Melon Soft Serve

Japanese Fruity Retreat Afternoon Tea

Hong Kong, 23 July 2025 – As the summer heat sets in, there’s no better way to refresh the palate than with sweet and juicy fruits. From 28 July to 12 October 2025, GREEN at Hotel ICON proudly presents “Japanese Fruity Retreat” Afternoon Tea, meticulously crafted by Executive Chef Danny Ho, using handpicked seasonal fruits flown in fresh from various regions across Japan. This delightful offering is designed to transport guests to a serene orchard in Japan, right in the heart of Hong Kong. For those seeking a lighter treat, a dessert-only version of the afternoon tea is available on weekdays, featuring a sweet-focused platter, starting from HK$258 per person. Afternoon tea guests can indulge in unlimited servings of Hokkaido Milk Melon Soft Serve, perfect for cooling down and satisfying the summer cravings. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary upgrade to a specially crafted mocktail made with NOOCI green tea powder, a blend inspired by Eastern herbal wellness, offering a refreshing and healthful treat.

The “Japanese Fruity Retreat” Afternoon Tea showcases the refreshing sweetness of Japanese fruits across every course — from starters to mains and desserts. The four starters include Sliced Parma Ham with Shizuoka Melon, Flying Fish Roe and Sweet Prawn with Kumamoto Strawberry, Walnut Cheese on Toast with Japanese Kyoho Grapes, and Hokkaido Scallop with Miyazaki Mango Salsa. The fragrant Shizuoka melon pairs perfectly with premium Spanish Parma ham, awakening the appetite with its sweet aroma. The large, juicy Kyoho grapes, bursting with sweetness, complement the rich and nutty walnut cheese toast, offering a layered flavour profile that sets the perfect tone for this Japanese-inspired culinary journey.

Miso Glazed Salmon

The indulgent main course selection features three globally inspired dishes, each infused with elements of Japanese culinary flair. Highlights include the Japanese Uni Pasta, made with fresh Canadian sea urchin renowned for its rich umami flavour and smooth texture, tossed in the chef’s house-made seafood sauce — a perfect harmony of savoury and ocean-fresh notes. The Pan-fried Beef Tenderloin with White Turnip is seared to a delicate char to lock in its juices, while the white turnip is prepared using the traditional Tsukudani method, simmered slowly in light soy sauce and sugar until richly flavoured and tender. The Miso Glazed Salmon is seasoned with a subtly sweet and savoury miso glaze, crisped to golden perfection on the outside while maintaining its moist, buttery texture within.

Now comes the most anticipated part of the journey — dessert! Chef Danny has carefully selected four types of seasonal fruits from different regions of Japan, including Shizuoka melon, Yamanashi peach, Kumamoto watermelon, and Miyazaki mango, to handcraft a vibrant selection of exquisite sweets. The beautifully presented creations include the Shizuoka Melon Roll Cake, Miyazaki Mango Cheesecake, Yamanashi Peach Genmaicha Konjac, and Kumamoto Watermelon Coconut Panna Cotta. Each dessert is generously filled with juicy, fresh fruit, offering the perfect balance of natural sweetness and refreshing lightness. For lovers of Japanese fruit, this is an experience not to be missed.

Adding to the charm, the desserts are elegantly arranged on a traditional nine-grid wooden tray, served with a misty smoke effect that evokes the ethereal beauty of a Japanese orchard, a visually stunning highlight perfect for sharing on social media.

Guests can also enjoy unlimited servings of Hokkaido Milk Melon Soft Serve, made with seasonal Shizuoka melon and creamy Hokkaido milk. With a soft, silky texture and an aromatic blend of melon and dairy, it’s the perfect sweet finale. At the self-serve toppings station, guests can customise their soft serve with an array of toppings such as crunchy granola, mochi, and fresh fruits — a fun and personal ending to this fruity afternoon journey.
