Here is an introduction to an annual autumn sweets event!

"Suruga Afternoon Tea" is a unique afternoon tea experience where you can savor the diverse flavors of Shizuoka tea (specifically from the Suruga region) alongside specially crafted sweets, all offered by local tea farmers, wholesalers, and cafes. During the event, over 30 participating shops serve their own original, special menus for you to enjoy. Let‘s try a wide variety of teas to find the flavors you prefer, and discover new ways to enjoy them!

Starry Sky Train, Southern Alps Apt Line

The Abt-system train runs through the mountainous region of Suruga (Oku-oi area) . While it typically operates as a daytime sightseeing train, from autumn through winter, it runs a special night service known as the “Starry Sky Train”.

True to its name, this tour allows passengers to enjoy the starry sky while riding the train-and the stargazing in this region is truly spectacular. With few large streetlights or houses nearby, the area offers a perfect vantage point for viewing a clear, breathtaking sky filled with stars. The tour lasts approximately three hours (17:25~20:24), departing in the evening , stopping for about an hour at a station known for its magnificent views , and then returning to the departure point. Come and experience the magnificent starry skies of Suruga this autumn and winter!
