Visa-Free Travel to Türkiye Now Open for Australian Citizens
Türkiye, with its ancient heritage, unique destinations, and world-renowned flavours, is now more accessible than ever for Australian travellers. With the introduction of visa-free travel, Australian citizens can stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism and transit purposes, effective from April 17th, 2026—making it easier than ever to experience the country’s rich cultural and natural diversity.
Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) General Manager Sinan Seha Türkseven stated that this initiative will enhance tourism from Australia and further strengthen cultural exchange between the two countries. Türkseven noted, “Building on the deep-rooted historical ties between Türkiye and Australia, our country continues to welcome a growing number of Australian visitors each year. While we hosted 192,770 Australian visitors in 2023, this figure approached 220,000 in 2025. With the introduction of visa exemption, we expect to welcome an even greater number of Australian visitors in the coming period, further deepening the people-to-people connections between our nations.”
