Destination Experience

(Wednesday, June 21, 2023, 8 AM - 3 PM)


The one-day trip will take you to Semenggoh where you will meet the precious red-haired friends– semi-wild Orangutans in their natural habitats. Next, visit one of the oldest remaining Bidayuh tribe’s longhouses to explore their headhunter history and tradition. Last but not least, a hearty Bidayuh tribal lunch in the longhouse.

Route A

Responsible Tourism

  • 1st pick up: Pullman Hotel @ 0715

    2nd pick up: RMH (Bus Stand) @ 0730

    3rd pick up: Waterfront Hotel @ 0745

  • Morning, pick up from city hotel and proceed to Semenggoh Orang Utan Center.

    Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is an orangutan sanctuary and nature reserve. It offers the chance to get up close to semi-wild orangutan. Located approximately 30 mins from Kuching, Semenggoh was set up in 1975 to care for wild animals that had been previously kept as illegal pets, orphaned or found injured in the rainforest.

    Continue journey to Annah Rais Bidayuh Longhouse – which is one of the oldest Bidayuh longhouses and is located approximately 1.5 hours drive from Kuching passing through beautiful limestone formation view, scenic countryside fringed by hills and farms, mountain ranges and palm oil estate. The Bidayuh’s who are also known as Land Dayaks, were once headhunters. A visit to the longhouse will give you a glimpse of the lifestyle of the Bidayuhs. Local lunch at longhouse. Return to Kuching. Drop of at city hotel by 1500hrs (Lunch included)

    Remarks: There will be a signage on the Coach Window & also on the Door (Route A). Our Tour Guide will also be holding up a signage at the hotel lobby with Route A (Responsible Tourism) & he will be ticking off the names of participants as they enter the coach.

    For the participants staying at Grand Margherita Hotel, please walk over & wait at the Riverside Majestic Hotel (Bus Stand).

Visit one of the best Borneo nature attractions– Bau’s Wind and Fairy Cave for some fruit bats and bird-spotting, explore the old gold mining town of Bau with its spectacular karst mountain backdrop and abandoned mining lakes, enjoy a local tribal lunch, and wander through the century-old Siniawan Old Town.

Route B

Ecotourism

  • 1st pick up: Pullman Hotel @ 0730

    2nd pick up: RMH (Bus Stand) @ 0745

    3rd pick up: Waterfront Hotel @ 0800

  • Fairy Cave (also known as Gua Pari) is an impressive show cave near the former gold mining settlement of Bau and about 40km from Kuching.

    Visiting both caves enables you to marvel at the sight of the wonderful limestone formations of stalactites and stalagmites including the beautiful montane vegetation of the limestone hills. The caves are also rich with the local folklore. Fairy cave has a number of shrines and altars belonging to the Taoist Chinese who regularly make offerings to the peculiar formations in this cave and Wind Cave, which is located a few kilometers away is named for the constant cool breeze that blows through it.

    Depart to Sinawan Bazaar. Visit Bazaar. Lunch at local restaurant. Return to Kuching. Drop off at city hotel by 3pm (Lunch included)

Start the day at Kubah Ria Market where you will find the freshest products that build up the incredible flavours of Sarawak, see for yourself how these local ingredients turn into unique Sarawakian cuisines, learn how to adapt these traditional recipes with easily-accessible ingredients, and of course, dive in the sumptuous lunch!

Route C

Gastronomy Tourism

  • 1st pick up: Pullman Hotel @ 0745

    2nd pick up: RMH (Bus Stand) @ 0800

    3rd pick up: Waterfront Hotel @ 0815

  • Morning, pick up from hotels and proceed to visit Kubah Ria Market. This is a great introduction to the local fruits and vegetables etc that are used in Sarawak's local cuisine. After this interesting visit, proceed to Telang Usan Hotel where you will be given a short introduction into the history of Sarawak's culinary heritage. After this interesting presentation, a team of professional chefs and passionate food lovers will share some traditional Sarawakian recipes with you. Observe the cooking techniques of the chefs. Enjoy a scrumptious lunch before returning to your hotels. (Lunch included)
