Ulu Ai Experience

The Ulu Ai Experience takes you into the Heart of Borneo and gives you the sense of discovery of past explorers. As a guest of the local Iban communities, you are transported along rivers that can only be explored by local longboats and with local knowledge. The communities still rely on the rainforest that surrounds them and this rainforest is also habitat for the original man of the forest – the orang utan.

Borneo Adventure has been working with the communities of Batang Ai for over 30 years, providing employment through responsible tourism and promoting conservation under our Ulu Ai Project. Through these efforts a sustained conservation presence and consciousness has been established, resulting in increased sightings of orangutan in the area. Our lodge and jungle camp serve as bases for our tours and activities over the whole area.

The clear rivers, cool waterfalls, amazing rainforest, orangutan and the vibrant culture of the Iban all combine to make a trip to Batang Ai a true Borneo Adventure.
