Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin

Megat holds a Master’s Degree in Aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing from Western Michigan University.
Starting his career in the airline industry with AirAsia in 2004, Megat managed the Government Relations and Special Projects portfolio. He was responsible for negotiations between governments for landing rights and commercial terms from airports and was a crucial member in the planning and construction of the first Low-Cost Carrier Terminal in Southeast Asia.
In 2007, Megat joined Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAS) as part of its critical Transformation Management Team to facilitate MAS’ turnaround campaign, leading Commercial and Operational initiatives. This eventually led to his appointment as the Special Officer to the Group CEO of MAS. In this capacity, Megat was responsible for assisting the GCEO with the formulation of long-term strategic plans and policies.
Subsequently in 2011, Megat left the aviation industry and joined General Electric as its Market Development Director for Malaysia and Brunei. His passion for aviation brought him back to the industry the following year, joining Flynas, a low-cost carrier based in Riyadh, as its Chief Commercial Officer. It is a point of pride with Megat that Flynas was awarded Leading Low-Cost Carrier in the Middle East for 2015 during his service with the airline, where he led Passenger Experience, Innovation and Transformational projects as well as Change Management initiatives for the airline.
Megat joined Malaysia Airports in 2018, rising through the ranks from General Manager of Corporate Planning to Senior General Manager of Strategy, and ultimately to Chief Aviation & Strategy Officer — a portfolio spanning Corporate Strategy & Planning, Transformation, Aviation Marketing, Sustainability, Stakeholder Relations, Research and Corporate Quality. A defining achievement of his tenure was leading the 'Reimagining Passenger Experience' transformation, which saw KLIA ascend to the ranks of the world's Top 10 airports.
Currently, Megat helms AirBorneo Airways as its Chief Executive Officer and Accountable Manager. In this role, he leads the airline's mission to strengthen air connectivity across Borneo in line with the Sarawak Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030. Leading a team of over 300 people, the airline aims to bridge communities, supporting economic development, and expanding regional access for both passengers and businesses throughout Sarawak, Sabah and beyond.
