Professor Jigang Bao

Professor Jigang Bao is Professor at the School of Tourism Management, Sun Yat-sen University, and Director of the Monitoring Centre for Sustainable Tourism Observatories of UN Tourism. His research focuses on tourism geography, sustainable tourism, tourism planning and tourism impacts. He was the founding dean of the School of Tourism Management and has played a major role in tourism education, research and destination planning in China. Professor Bao has published more than 300 academic papers and more than 20 books. In 2023, he received the 16th UN Tourism Ulysses Prize for Excellence in the Creation and Dissemination of Knowledge in Tourism.
