PATA Philippines LPU – Cavite Student Chapter: “Sabayang Pagbigkas” A.Y. 2026 National Language Month Competition
General Trias, Cavite, Philippines - 27th August 2026: The Pacific Asia Travel Association – Lyceum of the Philippines University - Cavite Student Chapter (PATA-LCSC), in coordination with the College of Liberal Arts and Education – Student Government (CLAE-SG), successfully organized the Sabayang Pagbigkas 2026 competition held at the Lyceum of the Philippines University - Cavite Auditorium. The competition was one of the activities assigned to the College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (CITHM) as part of the university’s celebration of Vision and Mission Week, which brought together participating colleges and departments through various competitions.
The event aimed to promote the spirit of Vision and Mission Week by providing students with an avenue to demonstrate their creativity, teamwork, leadership, and understanding of the institution’s vision, mission, and core values. The activity encouraged participants to actively engage with and reflect on these guiding principles through a collaborative and meaningful presentation, fostering a stronger sense of identity, unity, and commitment to the institution’s goals.
Each participating college or department was represented by one Speech Choir team composed of twenty five officially enrolled student performers. The participating teams represented CAMS, CBA, CEA, CITHM, and CLAE, with each group given the opportunity to present its interpretation of the prescribed literary piece, “Ang Panday.”
Prior to the competition, the participating students dedicated their own time and efforts to preparing for their performances. Through their individual and collective preparation, the teams worked to develop synchronized delivery, clear diction, voice projection, facial expressions, coordinated movements and props to use during the performances required for an effective Speech Choir presentation. Their preparation reflected not only their commitment to the competition but also their ability to work collaboratively toward a common performance.
The program commenced with the registration and arrival of participants, followed by the opening of the program, invocation, singing of the Philippine National Anthem, and welcome remarks by the College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management – Dean, Dr. Ivan L. Bartolata. An introduction to the event and an overview of its theme were then presented, followed by the introduction of the participating groups and teams.
The competition concluded with the announcement of winners and awarding of certificates. CEA was awarded as the champions, while CITHM secured first place. And CAMS was awarded second place while CLAE was awarded third place. The event was also made possible through the efforts of the participating students, who committed their own time and resources to prepare for the competition. Their dedication demonstrated the value of collaboration and collective effort in producing a meaningful cultural and educational experience.
The Sabayang Pagbigkas 2026 supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by providing students with an experiential learning opportunity beyond the classroom, allowing them to develop communication, collaboration, creativity, and cultural appreciation. The event also contributes to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through the collaboration between PATA-LCSC, the CLAE Student Government, the participating colleges, faculty members, judges, and students in organizing and carrying out the competition.
PATA-LCSC extends its sincere appreciation to the College of Liberal Arts and Education – Student Government (CLAE-SG) for its coordination and support in the conduct of the event. The chapter also expresses its gratitude to Ms. Hannah Gundao, PATA-LCSC Adviser, the participating officers and members of PATA-LCSC, and the five participating colleges and departments for their cooperation and dedication.
The chapter further extends its appreciation to the participating students who devoted their time and effort to preparing for their performances, as well as to the distinguished judges who evaluated the competition: Ms. Lovie M. Santos, Ms. Malory V. Canlas, and DR. Amanda Jane C. Menta. Their contributions helped make Sabayang Pagbigkas 2026 a meaningful celebration of the institution’s vision, mission, core values, student participation, and collective commitment.
