Established on the basis of Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 20 April 2018, The State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan is an executive authority carrying out and regulating the state policy in the field of tourism.
Its mission is to demonstrate a strategy focused approach to create an environment fostering the development of tourism in Azerbaijan through holistic institutional framework supported by research, bringing together all involved stakeholders (strategic partnerships), innovation and unique tourismExperiences. The vision is to develop Azerbaijan as a world class tourist destination, converting it into the most attractive and successful tourism destination in the region.
The agency actively carries out the functions within its competence in forming new tourism policy, attracting all members of the tourism industry to the process, improving research and statistics tools for more long-term development, application of opportunities of new technologies and innovations in tourism, enhancing public-private partnerships, ensuring tourist satisfaction, execution of new development plans on infrastructure projects, preparation of new tourism products for the extension of the tourist stay period and eliminating seasonality, shaping the new tourism brand, developing permanent touristic representations in target markets, etc.

The institute also launches global student exchange program in Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia and ASEAN for one or two semesters.
