Aung Pyae Khant - Marketing Intern
Hello! My name is Aung Pyae Khant, and I also go by Andrew. I am studying English (Communication) at the Asia-Pacific International University in Thailand. I enjoy creating meaningful content, exploring new ideas, and using communication to connect with people across different cultures. During my internship with PATA, I look forward to contributing to meaningful initiatives that inspire travel, foster connections, and support the sustainable development of the tourism industry.
Chevy Klein Tan - Project Management Research intern
Hello or as we like to say, "Mabuhay!"
I'm Chevy Klein "CK" Tan, a 3rd-year student taking up BS Economics with a specialisation in International Law & Policy at Enderun Colleges, Philippines. One thing about me is I love researching—from reading and writing to compiling the information and breaking it down into nuanced pieces for everyone to enjoy and analyse. This passion extended into my academic life, where I garnered opportunities to present my thesis at international conferences, collaborate on editorials with other student leaders and now work with PATA as a Project Management Research intern.
As a PATA intern, I'm excited to combine my coursework and love for research into tangible results. I hope to learn more about various destinations and how their tourism operates, and I cannot wait to expand my perspectives on their individual systems. Moreover, I look forward to mastering analytical skills through the hands-on data collection that PATA offers and encourages its interns to explore.
Connor Moore - Sustainability and Social Responsibility Intern
Howdy, I’m Connor! Originally from the United States, I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Global Studies at the University of Salamanca in Spain, holding dual Bachelor’s degrees in International Studies and Chinese.
My path in sustainable tourism has been driven by hands-on, grassroots experience. Before beginning my Master’s, I worked across the ecotourism and agrotourism sectors—guiding white-water rafts in Alaska, handling alpacas in North Carolina, translating Spanish in the Colombian Amazon, and working on a Colorado horse ranch. Later, I served for two years as a Peace Corps Community Development and Education Volunteer in Mongolia, where I spearheaded local tourism initiatives both independently and in partnership with the NGO GerHub.
I believe that tourism development, when done right, can be a strong driver of sustainable growth as it provides clear financial incentives to protect ecosystems and celebrate local cultures. In my role as a Sustainability Associate, I’m excited to merge my frontline tourism experience with my passion for the Asia-Pacific region, equipping PATA’s partners with the tools they need to grow sustainably while protecting our planet.
Gwen - Youth Intern
Hello everyone! My name is Gwen, and I recently completed my Bachelor's degree in Political Science at Singapore Management University. My studies drew me toward the intersection of culture and policy, and tourism turned out to be a natural place to explore both at once.
I'm especially interested in how sustainable tourism policy can protect the places and communities it depends on, rather than wearing them down. Travel has real power to connect people across cultures, but only if it's built thoughtfully, and that's the question I'm most excited to dig into during this internship.
As a PATA Youth Intern, I'm looking forward to learning from professionals across the region, understanding how policy translates into real practice, and contributing a political science perspective to the team's work. I'm grateful for the chance to grow, connect with people from different backgrounds, and be part of a community working toward more meaningful, responsible tourism.
Kyoungseop Shin (Thomas) - Events Intern
Hi everyone! My name is Kyoungseop Shin (Thomas). I am currently studying Tourism Management at Jeju National University. I have a strong passion for the global MICE industry and international tourism, having actively participated in regional tourism initiatives as a Jeju MICE Ambassador ('Gaonnuri').
Joining PATA is an incredible opportunity for me. During my internship, particularly through supporting key events like the PATA Travel Mart, I look forward to gaining hands-on experience in event logistics, international conference coordination, and partner management. I am excited to collaborate with team members from around the world and contribute to PATA's mission across the Asia-Pacific region.
Natasha Fernandes - Sustainability and Social Responsibility Intern

Hello everyone! I am Natasha, originally from Goa and Mumbai, India, and currently residing in Birmingham, United Kingdom. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Tourism at St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Mumbai, and am currently enrolled into a Master’s in International Tourism Management from University College Birmingham.
My passion for this industry lies deeply in sustainable tourism, consumer behaviour, and socio-psychology, particularly how these dynamics influence destination resilience. Looking ahead, I intend to pursue PhD research exploring these connections further to support long-term, community-centred development.
I feel privileged to work with PATA’s Sustainability and Social Responsibility team because my core values align so naturally with the organisation's vision. Through this internship, I am excited to help create a real-world impact across the Asia-Pacific region while sharpening my project development and analytical skills alongside dedicated industry professionals.
Olivia Tam - Events Intern
Hello! I’m Tam Lok Ching, Olivia from Hong Kong. I’m currently in my third year at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, majoring in Event Management.
To me, a successful event feels effortless to its guests—but that effortlessness is built on structure, contingency, and human insight. That is the beauty of an event team: it is collaboration in its purest form. Diverse talents unite toward one shared goal, and the final result belongs to everyone.
I am truly honored to join the PATA Event Team, as it is a valuable opportunity for me to learn from seasoned professionals, contribute meaningfully, and grow both personally and professionally. During the internship, I hope to step out of my comfort zone, connect with people from different backgrounds, listen to their stories, and understand how collaboration truly works in practice.
Piyanuch Jarurattananon - Membership Intern
Hi! I'm Piyanuch Jarurattananon, but I also go by Toon. I'm a 4th-year student at Mahidol University International College, majoring in Travel and Service Business Entrepreneurship. With my passion for traveling and responsible tourism, I thrive on collaborating with people from diverse organizations and backgrounds. At PATA, I hope to deepen my understanding of the tourism industry through a global perspective, gain practical, real-world experience, and play a part in the organization's impactful contributions to society.
Sein Kim - Events Intern
Hello everyone! My name is Sein Kim, and I am an undergraduate student majoring in Multimedia Design at Jeju National University in South Korea. Currently, I am thrilled to be serving as an Event Operations Intern at PATA!
My journey into the MICE and events industry began naturally while active as a MICE Supporter with the Jeju Tourism Organization. Blending my background in Multimedia Design with hands-on event execution, I strive to be a versatile professional capable of handling operations, visual communications, and creative problem-solving seamlessly. I believe well-crafted events do not just bring people together—they create powerful, lasting impressions.
Being part of the PATA Event Operations team is an incredible opportunity to apply a well-rounded skill set to international event management. During my internship, I am excited to bring fresh energy to high-impact global events, learn from industry leaders, and grow as an adaptable multi-talented professional in the international event scene. About the PATA Internship Programme
The PATA Internship Programme provides students with the opportunity to learn about PATA and the travel & tourism industry on an international scale. Interns will be required to perform operational, support, and administrative tasks in various parts of the organisation.
