Why did you join PATA?
Youngsan University joined PATA to connect with a trusted regional network and to learn from best practices in sustainable, inclusive tourism. We also hope to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry by sharing research, education, and talent development that support the visitor economy.
How do you see your organisation aligning with PATA's new vision of creating a meaningful Pacific Asia tourism economy, and how can this vision be reflected in your day-to-day operations?
YSU aligns with PATA’s vision by preparing future tourism and hospitality leaders who create value for communities, businesses, and the environment. In day-to-day operations, we reflect this through practice-based curricula, community-linked projects, responsible tourism content in teaching and research, and partnerships that encourage ethical, service-oriented innovation.
What recent initiatives, trends, or transformations in your organisation or destination would you like to share with the PATA network?
Recently, we have expanded experiential learning and industry collaboration, including field-based projects and micro-credential-style training to improve job readiness. We are also increasing global engagement through partnerships and support services for international students, while incorporating digital skills and sustainability perspectives across tourism-related education and research.
